Get Sociable: Social Tools

Wibiya.com is a tool bar that can be added to your site to make it more sociable. It includes social sharing buttons, live chat, and more. You may need the assistance of your website designer to implement the toolbar once you have gone through the options and decided on the right ones for you.

Adding tools like this to your website allows you to easily increase page views and user engagement, and promote your content. Wibiya has a lot of cool of free apps and features that enable you to extend your content’s exposure and provide users with a more interactive experience of your website.

RSS Feeds: A Cool Tool

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds are a great way to integrate more content into your website and to integrate your website or blog into social media. HTML websites need to be run through a feed aggregator, which is basically a site that monitors your website for changes and sends them out to the web whenever there is an update. CMS sites like Wordpress or Joomla have these built in.

Today, Facebook and Twitter also use RSS feeds, making it possible for you to proudly display your activity across many platforms at once or to subscribe to other people’s updates on your site. One example is seen at my client’s website  slingshotsuccess.com. The site has multiple feeds at the bottom of the home page because there are three main contributors to this site. Each person’s blog and event updates are displayed easily on the site.

RSS feeds are also a great way to build traffic and boost SEO. The more Google and other search engines see your site being updated, the more robust and active they view your site. Updating your site frequently is a plus to Google, and having an RSS feed that is active on your site is considered an update.

RSS feeds are also a grest way to provide instant content. If you follow a blogger who posts relevant information, post their feed to your site. Your site visitors will see that you are informed on relevant topics and the blogger will appreciate the extra traffic and exposure.

Twitterfeed.com is an RSS feed that allows you to sync up your social accounts, website, and blog. It’s definitely a cool tool!

Get Automated

We all want to be present and authentic to get a better return on our social media investment. But there are times when having a twitter campaign using tweets that are scheduled in advance can really help. For those times there are some great tools out there.

Tweetdeck.com Socialoomph.com and Hootesuite.com are all programs that allow you to manage your social networks in one place and to schedule tweets into the future.

My favorite is Hootesuite. It integrates easily with Facebook, has sophisticated reporting for clicks and impressions, and allows you to manage all your social media profiles from one window. Even if you never schedule a tweet in advance, Hootesuite is a great service to managing social accounts.
